I know the scenario. It's happening in households everywhere...
Holidays upon us. Every day crazier than the one before. So much to do. Lists, lists and more lists!!!
January 1, 2017 is coming STRAIGHT at us and that gets us thinking. Well, most of us. If you are reading my blog, then yes, YOU.
How is this new year going to be different? Better? Happier? Healthier? Wealthier?
Oh, wait, I know...I'm going to start those "good habits" on January 1st! I'm going to crush it starting next week. I'm a new person in the new year!! Yeah, yeah, that's my plan.
So, here's a truth bomb. Waiting to start your "new, better" life on January 1st is not the recipe for success. Please, trust me on this.
I'm right there with you and I played this game for many, many years before realizing that crossing out the year on my "goals" list and writing in the new year was NOT working for me!
Starting my intense, EVERYDAY work out routine on January 1st was also not a winning plan.
Starting my daily meditation, cleansing and yoga practice week one of the New Year was also an EPIC FAIL in the "stick to it" department.
You know what I love? Simple things that work. Habits that we love to keep because they make our lives better! Techniques that bring true, long lasting success. Ahhh, breathe that in. Doesn't that feel lovely? Things that work with ease.
I also love finding the FUN (fiercely unique niche) that WORKS in your life.
Here's my example from the file of what didn't work for me:
A few years ago I decided that as a "role model" in the health and wellness industry, I "should" be getting my keister to the gym. I had clients who had major health goals and we worked together daily and I was feeling a bit like a fraud because I NEVER went to the gym. Facebook was shaming me everyday as I watched people post their crunches, guns and gym workout routines.
So, New Year, new me.
I signed the year contract for the gym.
I bought the new workout outfit and sneaks from Athleta.
I wrote down my commitment to "getting fit" and wrote into my planner the days/times/classes that I'd be doing.
First week of January...I show up on every day that I committed to.
Second week, I skip once. No big deal.
Third week, I start to realize I really don't enjoy the gym.
Fourth week, I hate this f'in gym.
I'm grumbling all the way to the gym, dreading every moment there, grumbling all the way home.
Mid-February, I stop going and sigh a huge breath of relief. It's not me. I'm not a gym person. I take another look at my health goals and configure an entirely new plan that consists of what I love and what works for me; hiking, running outdoors, a yoga class and lifting weights in my living room watching YOU TUBE GURUS. Nirvana!
Now we're talking!! I'm happy! I'm fit! I'm living a life I love! I'm keeping my commitment because it fits my life, it grooves with my soul and it's a habit I can sustain.
Oh, and this new habit, started that year, mid-February and has served me ever since.
My health/workout goals are easy-peasy now.
So, back to where I began...
Goals are ever so important. That never changes. How we achieve our goals. Ahhh, that is the question.
It's starts with your goals. Health, family, happiness, personal achievement, business, financial, spiritual.
Then, how is it that your goals become your life? How do you transition from where you are to where you want to go?
Remember this, it's the journey that makes this all worthwhile. Loving your life, loving yourself, and moving to the you and the life worth fighting for.

How do I know... I know from all the women I have worked with and who are actualizing the life of their dreams.
Can it happen for you? 100% abso-f'in-lutely it can.
Sometimes you have to slow down to go faster. My recommendation. Slow down now. Most accidents happen when we are going too fast. Enjoy the holidays. Don't rush through them. Have fun. And...
